Description
The MW8 MURRAY winch is a versitile 2-speed winch that comes complete with a top cleat. Proven on historic racing yachts, the MW8 is suitable for short-handed cruising boats or yachts requiring high power ratios. It is constructed in New Zealand using manganese bronze. This MW8 MURRAY winch has been used as the promary sheet winch on boats up to 60' in length.
The powerful 40:1 worm gear is reversible and enables delicate control when trimming or easing sheets. Roller bearings mounted throughout minimise friction and wear, and provide maximum reliability.
Like all MURRAY winches, the MW6's handle is located at the base of the winch, out of the way. The manganese bronze handle comes with the winch and includes a locking mechanism so once attached it won't separate from the winch unexpectedly.
MURRAY winches are a very simple and robust design with a proven history. They can be taken apart in seconds for servicing with the removal of one screw. The ratchet mechanism is reversable to suit any operation or location on your boat.
