High-quality 12-gauge silicon bronze wood screws in a variety of lengths. These silicon bronze screws have a slotted countersunk (CSK) head and are ideal for use as boat building screws.
Even buried in the wooden structure of a boat, silicon bronze screws will not corrode - unlike stainless steel screws which will corrode when shielded from oxygen and unable to build a protective oxide layer.
We also recommend silicon bronze screws (or silicon bronze machine screws for high-load situations) for fastening our bronze deck hardware.

Silicon Bronze Fasteners
The silicon bronze wood screws, machine screws and nuts were just what the doctor ordered. After searching for these fasteners at four NZ chandlery stores and other fastener shops I located Classic Boat Supplies. Although postage is high for the trip from Australia to NZ the product quality and speed of delivery makes it money well spent. In hind sight I could have sourced all the fasteners from Classic Boat Supplies. The fasteners have been used on the refitting of an 11 foot clinker dinghy that was built in 1970.
